Christ dying and Egg dying whats the difference?

Hey Everybody
During easter its easy to forget the real meaning of Easter. During my brother and sisters there where these little kids hauling these miniature wagons to carry all the candy you get during easter. Its almost turning into another Halloween. In my school your not allowed to call it Easter anymore. But then whats the point of having a 'Spring Holiday' if theres no Easter?

But what is cool is that my church(Grace Community), did this really cool Good friday and Easter sunday services. That jsut really showed me how much God loves me. During good friday I saw parts of "The Passion of the Christ". Anyone who hasnt seen the passion I really recommend it. For me it just refreshes my mind of how Christ died. Just how painful it was. It was just so good to remember how much Jesus loves me.
I mean for someone to die for me I just think thats amazing and then taking my sin too thats just so so cool. Its always good to remember what Easter is about.

About the McSheffreys

This is a little info on my family that my dad made. So when he says he thats my dad not me. You can see more on this at my dads blog

About the McSheffrey’s
You could say that we really are a European family. I was born in N. Ireland and immigrated to the U.S. when I was 15. Tawnya was born in Germany, being from a military family, and went back there for a year when she was in her 20’s to go to Bible school. Tawnya’s first mission trip was to Zagreb in Croatia in 1983 and we both went to Hungary in 1987 for a summer mission trip! We have lived in Prague in the Czech Republic for the past 10 years. So when you speak to us about our ministry in E. Europe it is a very natural and familiar conversation. We have 3 children, Connor (13) who has lived most of his life in the Czech Republic and Brendan (8) and Christina (7) whom we adopted from the Ukraine in 1999.
During my days at the University of Kansas, God put in my heart a real desire to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. I knew that to be effective I would need to make disciples, train national leaders who can train others to do the work and embrace whatever culture I moved into.
Tawnya and I made our move to Prague in the Czech Republic in 1995. When we arrived we saw the needs in Eastern Europe; there was an obvious need for the gospel among young people since the fall of communism in 1989. We also saw a hunger in young people for spiritual truth and a pressing need to train youth leaders in the church to reach out with the gospel. God drew us to Josiah Venture, a group of experienced youth pastors working in the Czech Republic and Poland at the time. They were reaching and training students to take the gospel to their friends and bring them to their local youth groups. For the past 10 years we have been serving in this specific ministry; building healthy youth groups, leading English camps and training key leaders in western Czech. We have enjoyed every minute of our time with these Czech students!
In January of 2005, the leadership of the JV ministry asked us to lead a team into Croatia. We have been looking towards this for the past two years and are excited for this next challenge; that of reaching the next generation in Croatia. This is an unbelievable opportunity to reach a generation of young people in a country with complete open doors for the gospel.
So now we are taking our experience from our time in Czech of doing relational evangelism, English camps, model youth ministries in local churches, training leaders at all levels to start over in another country. Niall’s gifts are in the area of starting up new ministries, building a team, counseling, worship and discipleship. Tawnya is gifted in the area of hospitality, encouragement and service. Connor is fast becoming a young leader too. He has a heart for lost people, is fast becoming web savvy as well as quite a good drummer. We will move to Zagreb the capitol of Croatia in June of 2005 to begin this adventure.
This is our story up until this point. We hope and pray that God would bring a new generation of leaders into our midst in Croatia over the next 10 years.

My first blog

Hey Everyone
This is my first blog entry so its kind of wierd
but hopefully ill get used to it. My life so far has
been pretty exciting and unusual. Ive grown up as an MK
Missionary Kid which has actually been kind of cool I've
been to a lot of different countries see Countries ive been to
My parents were missionaries in the Czech Republic but
after awhile we felt God was calling us to another place so
we went home to America and after a year of studying the
American culture (Not Really) are family has decided to move
to Croatia. Croatia is a country that does not have much to
hold on to. A lot of them need Jesus in their lives.
Our team Josiah Venture has decided to support us
in our Journey in Croatia.
